SPOUSAL WILLS
This is suitable for married couples and a will is made for each spouse. Under English law, couples usually draft wills known as ‘mirror wills’. This is when the husband and wife each make a will which mirrors the other – hence the term ‘mirror’. Unfortunately, under Islamic law mirror wills are not possible because the distribution of wealth specified in the Qur’an is different for you and your spouse. For example, each of your respective parents get a share under Islam and as such cannot mirror your spouse’s will. Therefore each spouse needs to have their own will. Our spousal wills almost mirror each other save for the differences in the heirs and shares.
These wills are not suitable for New Muslims who have no Muslim family or have only some members of the family who are Muslim. The spousal wills for New Muslims will be more appropriate
Fees
2 wills (one for the husband and one for the wife) – £130
2 standard letters of wishes – £15
2 Letters of wishes with own instructions – £20
Please complete the questionnaire for Spousal Wills and we will draft your Wills accordingly.
SINGLE WILL FOR NEW MUSLIMS

EMERGENCY WILL
This is suitable only in emergency situations where time is short and you are unable to do a complete will, like for example if you are travelling abroad and would like to make your will before travelling.
A very basic Will will be drafted whereby it will state that your estate is to be distributed according to Islam. However, the heirs and their shares will not be worked out. It will be for your executors to work them out.
It is highly recommended that once the emergency has passed you make a full will.
Fees
Emergency will – £50
COMPLEX WILLS
This is when your estate exceeds the current tax threshold or your circumstances are complicated. A lot more work will be involved. You will need to complete one of the relevant questionnaires (eg. for a single will) and pay the fee for that as a minimum. We will then review your completed questionnaire and agree a fee with you before drafting your will.
